Teak Wood Oil
Teak is an oily wood with excellent properties, hence the commercial use of the name ” teak oil ” to sell wood finishes.
What is known as ” teak oil ” is not really oil extracted from teak wood, it is usually a combination of natural oils (linseed and / or tung) with industrial compounds.
Which is not to say that this type of finish is not effective. It is used to protect wood outside, not exclusively teak wood. This oil adds additional characteristics such as resistance to sunlight, colorants, a silkier finish, fungicidal action, etc.
The application is periodic, between once or twice a year depending on the level of exposure of the wood. Although this maintenance is more demanding than others regarding the periodicity, its application is simpler and the finish is much more natural.
